About St Kevin's College

As a Catholic school, founded on the Charism of Edmund Rice, our philosophy recognises the unique worth of each individual to be led to the Christian understanding of self, God and others.

We value learning, family and fullness of life. The lives of our students are enriched by an educational experience that develops strong, moral and disciplined individuals who give their best.

Boys at St Kevin’s are challenged to develop their individual sensibilities through artistic, intellectual, cultural and sporting pursuits.

Each boy has a tutor and year level coordinator or house head. Each family develops a strong sense of community through our approach to pastoral care. Tutors maintain regular contact with parents; communication between school and home is seen as crucial to ensure that a student is able to be his best.

Enrichment classes are offered in philosophy, literature, problem-solving and engineering. Programs with other schools are offered for those requiring an extra challenge.

The prevailing ethos and climate of respect make St Kevin’s a welcoming place of learning and growth. The strong family involvement leads to people forging strong relationships. The special role of senior students as mentors and guides develops a profound sense of confidence in the younger boys.

The religious education program provides teaching in Christian morality and opportunities for prayer and worship. Chaplains and counsellors assist with personal growth. Every student is actively involved in the service of others.

The extensive outdoor education program enables boys to grow in confidence and self-reliance through the theme of journey. The sports program of the Associated Public Schools enables every boy to represent his school in several sports.

Most boys use the very convenient train services. The train station adjoins the school and, as a result, our students are drawn from a diverse range of suburbs.
